Floatfit® is the latest fitness hype on water! Blown over from the UK it now slowly makes its way to the Benelux. What makes this group fitness class unique is that all the exercises are executed on an Aquabase®, an inflated and floating board. Because of the unpredictability of the water you have to pay attention to your balance during the entire class. You are not only training on balance but also strength, body awareness, endurance and coordination. These classes are pure fun, but getting wet is inevitable!

Thermae Sports Merchtem offers two variations

Floatfit® Balance
During this FloatFit® lesson you experience all the good aspects of a classic lesson, but now you can do so in the water. These yoga exercises require more effort, because you exercise on a kind of air mattress (Aquabase®), so you have to focus on your balance even more. Nevertheless, this additional effort is rewarded with a blissful zen feeling due to the water. A unique yoga experience!

Floatfit® HIIT
HIIT stands for High Intensity Interval Training which means that high-intensity exercises are alternated with short rest periods. Floatfit® HIIT is an intensive, but low-impact workout which makes it a “joint-friendly” training. This class includes burpees, lunges, squats, mountain climbers, planks, etc.

Good to know for the ladies: you can wear a fitting T-shirt and shorts/leggings during this class.
